Champions Course Overseed

#14 Champions Course
Now that we have the overseed up and growing on the Stadium Course it is now time to get the Champions Course ready for the winter season. This has been a very good year for the Champions Course, we have had good turf quality and playing conditions throughout the year and judging by the amount of rounds we have played the course has been well received. Tyson Miller and the staff on the Champions Course have done an outstanding job this year.

On Monday, November 1 we will begin the overseed practices on the Champions Course and the course will be closed until Monday, November 15. The practices will be much the same as we did on the Stadium Course. However, this year we will not be overseeding the rough only greens, tees and fairways will be overseeded. The non-overseeded rough will provide a very nice contrast to the fairways and very playable conditions throughout the winter season.

Not overseeding the rough allows us to have better bermudagrass in these high traffic areas on the golf course. The plan was to give the rough a break to allow for better bermudagrass during the summer season. The Champions Course is a great summer course with some of the best conditions for our guest. However, the overseeding of the fairways will give us great playing conditions and nice color during the winter months.
